AffiliateWP – Custom Affiliate Slugs 1.2

AffiliateWP supports many affiliate URL variants, which your affiliates may utilize concurrently.

AffiliateWP – Custom Affiliate Slugs takes this a step further by enabling affiliates to design their own unique \”slug.\” A slug is the portion of a referral URL that contains the affiliate\’s username or ID.

For example, if an affiliate’s username is john and they have an affiliate ID of 123, they will be familiar with using any one of these referral URLs:

‘http://yoursite.com/?ref=john’
‘http://yoursite.com/?ref=123’
‘http://yoursite.com/ref/john’
‘http://yoursite.com/ref/123’

Affiliate slugs may be customized to be more personal, more related to the affiliate\’s company name, or more relevant to the affiliate\’s marketing activities, or totally random. Alternatively, if your affiliate has a WordPress username on your site that they want to keep secret, they may create a new custom slug that they can use for their affiliate links in a professional way.

Add-on capabilities

• Allow all affiliates that are logged into the Affiliate Area to generate their own unique slugs.
• Allow just a subset of affiliates to generate custom slugs.
• Automatically create unique slugs for newly registered affiliates.
• Set a maximum length for auto-generated custom slugs.
• Automatically generate alphanumeric or alphabetic custom slugs.
• Modify or delete an affiliate\’s existing custom slug on the Affiliate Edit screen.
• When manually adding a new affiliate, you may provide a custom slug.
• Utilize with attractive or unattractive affiliate referral URLs.
• There will be no duplicate slugs – no two affiliates will share a slug.
• Custom slugs may be changed at any time – once one is changed, it becomes available for use by other affiliates if they attempt to alter theirs.
• When altering a slug, confirmation is needed – the custom slug must be provided twice to indicate that the affiliate wants to change it.
• Utilize the affiliate campaign tool to create unique slugs.
